Gina McGrath
Consulting Psychologist
Gina completed her Bachelor of Psychology degree at the University of Newcastle in 2001. Since then, Gina has been providing therapeutic support to adolescents and adults. She specialises in areas such as anxiety, depression, adjustment disorder, stress management, and grief.
In recent years, Gina has developed a particular passion for women’s health and family dynamics.
Many challenges can arise as people begin their journey to start or extend their family. These challenges include
- Reproductive trauma, such as infertility, starting IVF treatment, birth trauma, and adjustment to parenthood, can all be extremely emotionally challenging.
- Antenatal and postnatal anxiety and depression.
- The chronic trauma and complex grief associated with perinatal loss.
Gina works with women in a safe, non-judgemental, and caring manner to navigate these challenges. Recognising that this is not solely a women’s health issue, partners are also supported and encouraged to access help.
Gina is also interested in assisting women as they navigate their transition through peri-menopause and menopause. She helps them understand how changes in female hormone levels can significantly impact physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being, and provides strategies to make this transition as smooth as possible.
