Why enlist our help
Unidentified and unresolved issues can lead to learning difficulties and have a negative impact on attitude, self-esteem and performance.
Additionally, if your child is gifted, it is vital to keep them inspired and challenged to ensure their ongoing development and motivated.
Your family’s EDUCARE team can consist of Clinical, Educational and Child Psychologists, Speech-Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists, and can also include input from teachers and other stakeholders where necessary.
How it works
When we first meet you and your child or teenager, a comprehensive assessment is undertaken to determine strengths, weaknesses and individual learning styles.
After this assessment, a plan for therapy is drafted in conjunction with you, pinpointing goals for treatment and outlining the treatment program.
When you meet, your consultant will carefully explain the program and will answer any questions you or your child may have.
Periodically during therapy, reviews of progress will be made by your consultant to make adjustments where necessary.
Most children work with us on an ongoing basis for several weeks, months or years, depending on their needs.
Before you book an appointment with one of our medical or health and wellbeing specialists, speak to your GP and request a referral.
How We Help
Take a look at the common challenges experienced by our young clients and how we help them overcome these setbacks.
Learning Difficulties
Learning problems, unless identified and remediated, can multiply over time and have a negative influence on school performance and attitude but help is available and change is possible.
Motivation & Behaviour
Does your son/daughter underachieve at school or are they lacking motivation & confidence?
Underachievement and a lack of motivation has a direct bearing on learning outcomes. The cause could be academic or social and can be treated with the help of an experienced professional.
Concentration Problems
Does your son/daughter get easily distracted, daydream or fail to complete tasks?
Concentration problems can occur for a number of reasons. Early diagnosis and treatment is essential to prevent the long-term negative impact upon learning.
Social Difficulties
Social difficulties often have a severe negative influence on a student’s academic performance and self-esteem. Peer acceptance and social success can be achieved with the right help.
Personal Confidence & Self-Esteem
It is important that students have the necessary life skills and personal confidence to realise their full potential. There are many strategies that can be used to develop such skills.
School Readiness
Your child may seem to be intellectually ready for school yet immature emotionally and socially.
Starting school at the right time can help to ensure long term academic and social success.
Gifted Learning
Identifying and meeting the special needs of gifted and talented students is essential to appropriate enrichment and development.
Emotional & Anxiety.
Emotional problems encountered at school or at home may vary from anxiety to severe depression and school phobia.
Early treatment and increased understanding of the issues are essential to work through the difficulties.
Demanding & Defiant Behaviour
Strong-willed and demanding children can make family life frustrating. Effective strategies can enable children and parents to work through conflict experiences and behavioural difficulties.
Neuro-Psychometric Assessment
A comprehensive neuro-psychometric assessment is essential for identifying a child’s intellectual strengths and weaknesses.
The results help to determine the best learning style and strategies to enable your child to reach his/her potential.
