Esther is an experienced creative and compassionate Occupational Therapist who has recently returned to Newcastle after a hiatus working in Far North Queensland. She enjoys working directly with children, adolescents and young adults.

Prior to joining the team at EduCare, Esther had previously worked in the private sector providing tailored assessment and therapy services to people with disability, under the National Disability and Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Esther understands the importance of play in building children’s self esteem, problem solving and learning capabilities. Specifically, Esther seeks to provide a holistic, family centred and collaborative approach to empower children and their families to reach their goals.

Esther has supported individuals with sensory processing difficulties, emotional regulation, developing fine gross motor skills, handwriting, school readiness and social skills. She particularly enjoys seeing children thrive through creative self-expression via art-based and sensory play therapy.

Esther has also developed a special interest in working closely with adolescents and adults with psychosocial and learning disabilities.

When not at the clinic, Esther may be found engaging in music production, watching films or swimming at the local beaches of Newcastle. She enjoys going to the gym, pilates, meditation, reading and meeting friends for coffee. Esther has recently started learning Japanese and hopes to improve her surfing this year!
