Psychiatry Services Charlestown

Newcastle, Hunter & Beyond

EDUCARE is renowned for delivering expert intervention to children and teens for over 25 years, however we are also proud to offer adults the same professional, specialised medical and psychological support!

Our highly experienced psychiatrists, and clinical consulting psychologists are accomplished at identifying and treating a full range of issues often encountered in adult life.

What to Expect

Once you have secured your GP referral an initial appointment and follow-up date can be made.

Initial appointments last generally between 50 and 90 minutes to allow your specialist to gather detailed information about what brings you to EDUCARE, any previous interventions as well as what you are hoping from treatment with us.

When you meet, your consultant will carefully outline the plan for therapy, devised in collaboration with you, pinpointing goals for treatment and answer any questions you may have.

Periodically during therapy, reviews of progress will be made to make adjustments where necessary and ensure new perspectives can be adopted and evidence-based treatment is at the forefront of intervention.

The length of treatment and number of individual sessions will vary according to the nature of your problem and the type of specialised therapy undertaken. Generally, people attend for 6 to 10 sessions approximately 2 to 4 weeks apart.

You can expect the support of an empathetic, caring and highly experienced clinician who will identify, treat and provide strategies and skills that will enhance your well-being and quality of life.
