Stefani is a dedicated Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with over 13 years of experience in the disability sector. Her journey also includes an extensive and international experience as a compassionate speech pathologist in three different countries working with clients with disabilities.
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, Stefani’s areas of expertise include helping clients with complex behaviour concerns from different backgrounds and abilities, including those with mental health concerns and developmental disabilities. Her approach is deeply informed by a trauma-informed lens, ensuring that each individual’s unique needs are met with sensitivity and understanding.
Stefani holds dual degrees in Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences, a Master’s in Biomedical Gerontology, and additional qualifications in Dysphagia and Feeding Disorders. She is currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Sydney in Medicine and Health.
Stefani is passioned about the amazing combination between behaviour support and speech pathology, helping clients to communicate they needs and wants without engaging in behaviours of concern. She thrives in areas such as Functional Communication, Trauma-Informed Care, Autism Communication & Behaviour, Positive Behaviour Support, Emotional Identification and Regulation, Social Skills and Interaction, Restrictive Practices, and much more. Her extensive experience with communication and disability equips her to identify, assess, and mitigate risks and triggers effectively, empowering clients and carers to navigate challenging behaviours with confidence.
Outside of work, Stefani enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring new cuisines, and learning about different cultures.
