Katrina comes to Educare with a background in rural and remote health and private practice. She loves working closely with families to develop functional and client centered communication goals.
Katrina has a special interest in assisting children with speech and language disorders, behavior difficulties, and children with social communication disorders.
Katrina is a Hanen Certified in the ‘It Takes Two to Talk’ and ‘More Than Words’ programs and can provide specialist parent/carer training to families of young children with language delays, or language disorders associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Katrina also has training in Applied Behaviour Analysis and loves incorporating these learning principles into her therapy with ASD.
Katrina has experience providing therapy to children with expressive and receptive language delays and disorders, speech disorders (including Childhood Apraxia of Speech), functional communication therapy (including using Augmentative and Alternative Communication Devices such as Proloquo2Go and PODD). She also has experience running school readiness programs and social skills groups.
Her energy and enthusiasm makes her a hit with children and families alike.
