Dr Ulrich Schall has many years of experience working with young people affected by mental illness, which is complemented by a substantial track record in mental health research at the University of Newcastle’s Priority Centre for Brain and Mental Health Research.
He specialises in the early detection and management of mental illness in young people.

Dr Schall also works in the public sector providing specialist services to the Hunter New England Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.

After studying in Germany, he graduated in Medicine at MD level and in Psychology at PhD and DSc level. He also completed his professional training in Psychiatry and Neurology in Germany.

He is a Fellow of the Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrist and accredited as Child and Adolescent and General Adult Psychiatrist. As a Psychologist, he specialises in cognitive neuroscience and neuropsychology, with a special interest in brain development.
