Tanya’s prior experience includes clinical leadership at Headspace Newcastle; clinical management within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service; and as a drug and alcohol services lead within Hunter New England Health. Tanya was also a Director of the NDIS service delivery trial in Newcastle.

Clinically, Tanya enjoys working with people of all ages with a special interest in working with children, teenagers and families, including during pregnancy and the early stages of parenthood through to adolescence. Working in acute mental health services, Tanya has experience with chronic and severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia and bipolar affective disorder, personality disorders, such as borderline personality disorder and, mood disorders, such as depression and anxiety, and trauma. Tanya enjoys developing a caring and supportive relationship with clients to assist them to overcome the challenges of life and achieve their goals.

Tanya is experienced in a range of therapies, including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT); Eye-Movement, Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR); Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and; Motivational Interviewing. Tanya also has experience in infant and toddler developmental testing across the developmental domains of cognition, language, motor, adaptive behaviour and social-emotional skills. Tanya is a board-approved Clinical Supervisor and available for supervision.

In her down time, Tanya is an active firefighting volunteer in the Rural Fire Service and enjoys outdoor adventures with her family.
