Mills is an empathetic, bubbly therapist who values creating a comfortable space for her clients to meet their therapy goals. She works collaboratively with children, their families, and educators to help them achieve their goals in their everyday lives.
Prior to working as a Speech Pathologist, Mills worked as a disability support worker, a nanny, and in pastoral care role in education. Her experience in these areas enables her to provide realistic and family-centered speech pathology services to her clients. Working previously in private practice with both paediatric and adult populations, Mills has supported clients with a range of language, literacy, stuttering, voice, swallowing, feeding, phonological awareness, social communication, and speech difficulties. She has a special interest in early intervention for early language clients, preschoolers preparing for school, and clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Mills is passionate about implementing quality, evidence-based services to her clients. She has completed post-graduate workshops including SoundsWrite, LSVT LOUD, SOS Approach to Feeding Therapy, More Than Words, It Takes Two to Talk, DIR Floortime Introduction, the Lidcombe Program and PROMPT.
Outside of speech pathology, she enjoys travel, reading, and pottery classes. Mills loves living in Newcastle, enjoying the beaches, and camping along the coast.
