Dr Colin Kable completed his Medical Degree at the University of Newcastle in 1985 and has worked within the Newcastle and the Hunter Valley region since that time. He had a number of years of general medical experience in hospitals and then became a specialist Psychiatrist.
After completing an additional qualification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, he worked as the Staff Specialist Psychiatrist at the John Hunter Children’s Hospital. This also involved working in Nexus, the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit and was part of the Hunter New England Child and Adolescent Aboriginal Mental Health Service. He has also worked at CAMHS outpatient clinics in Taree and Foster.
In 2006, Dr Kable moved into private practice. He has broad experience across the range of child and adolescent mental health conditions. Dr Kable was a Conjoint Lecturer with the University of Newcastle, and still teaches there on occasion.
