Dr Chanka Nanayakkara has recently joined the EDUCARE multi-disciplinary team as a clinical specialist in General Paediatrics. She also continues to consult at the John Hunter Children’s Hospital.
Dr Nanayakkara completed her primary medical degree in Sri Lanka in 2000 and has been practicing in Paediatrics since 2001. She has worked and completed part of her specialist training in General Paediatrics in the UK before moving to Australia in 2006.
Dr Nanayakkara has been working in the Northern Children’s Health Network since 2006 and completed her training as a Paediatrician at the John Hunter Children’s Hospital in 2010. She is currently undertaking specialist post-graduate training in Paediatric Rehabilitation.
Dr Nanayakkara is married with two young children and lives locally.
